Cate Colborn

Following a childhood of ballet, competitive gymnastics, tumbling and sports acrobatics, Cate trained professionally from age 16 at Arts Educational, London for 2 years; then went to Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance at 18 for 3 further years. She danced professionally for Wayne Mcgregor's Random Dance company with extensive work on his educational team. As well as performance contacts with the Darkin Ensemble she has had a varied career of film and stunt work, and a wide range of contemporary dance teaching experience from primary age right up to degree level, teaching Graham Technique at Middlesex University. In most recent years Cate has maintained a close affiliation with graduate contemporary dance company Chrysalis London, supporting rehearsal directing, auditions and teaching company class. Cate is really excited to join the Arts1 teaching team.
